On Saturday, May 17, Richard Groenendijk the comedian from Rotterdam played at Brakkeput Mei Mei his hilarious theatre show ' Alle Dagen ' for a packed room.
Groenendijk (Dirksland, 1972) was in Curaçao last year for his performance during ‘Lulverhalen’ with Howard Komproe, Peter Pannekoek & Ramon Beuk. In addition, he is also well known for his participation in the television series ‘Ranking the Stars’ with Paul de Leeuw.
With his show ‘Alle Dagen’ he won the prestigious Poelifinario price within the Netherlands for most impressive performance of the season. ‘’Groenendijk knows how to give a universal spin to an intimate and personal show’’, said the jury. ‘’It looks like he is casually telling some anecdotes, but just below those funny stories are a lot more layers hidden.’’
The press and the public in the Netherlands were unanimously enthusiastic:
De Volkskrant: "He stands on stage as a prince, his jokes are of high level and the songs, which he performed were moving"
Het Parool: "Groenendijk is a storyteller, who on his very best moments reminds me of a modern Toon Hermans".
Het NRC: "Groenendijk is a master storyteller"
De Telegraaf; "The performance is impeccable"
Because of his fast pace and double jokes is Richard Groenendijk disarming and above all a ruthless comedian. With no less than 100,000 visitors in the Dutch theaters, he closes his tour full of humour on Bonaire & Curaçao.
